LG Rumor Touch download problem

I just got this phone and the default browser is terrible, so I went looking for something else and decided to try Opera Mini.
The problem that I'm having is that I can't seem to locate where things I download through OM are being stored. There is no place in the settings (that I can locate) to specify a place where downloaded items should be stored. When I click on "Downloads" the things I have tried to download seem to be there, but unavailable for any type of use because I cannot retrieve them.

Also, every time I try to d/l a .jar file it turns off OM and switches to the default browser and says the file is invalid. I did find one post about a work around for this problem, but it did not work for me.

Anyone with any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems that this phone is too simple for OM5. It does not support necessary JSRs for saving files. The best solution is to change it to SE or HTC.

What is SE or HTC?

The OM5 browser works fine and I have discovered that I can change the download location to the memory card and can manipulate files from there, but even at that I KNOW that there are games and other apps that I can download other than going through sprint's web site to work for this phone. I have found some that say they are specifically designed for this phone but when I try and retrieve them I always get this same problem of the default browser popping up and then saying it's an invalid file. The phone boasts Java capabilities. This is one of the reasons I got this model.
