Wish: Real Unicode support.
I wish that there would be real support of Unicode. The frequency of "empty squares" have turned me from a sworn Opera-user, to one who hardly use it anymore. Instead I am stuck with the painfully slow Firefox, who however gives me what i want to see.Halstein.

Any specific example pages? I wouldn't be surprised if Opera were the one with "real Unicode support" because if a glyph isn't found in any font, for example, you're supposed to display a square image instead.

This example page clearly demonstrates what I'm talking about to some extent, though it also shows Opera failing at certain space characters that it shouldn't be failing at. I believe that Webkit has the best results whereas Firefox is essentially just making things up as it goes along.
Better Unicode support in general, +1
More like Firefox, -1
Webkit's where it's at.

Some examples:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_alphabet
Only squares instead of Gothic characters.
http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/ancient-greek-numbers.html
Squares instead of nu numeral signs.
http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/glagolitic.html
Squares instead of glagolitic characters.
http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/greek.html
Symbols 880-883 do not show.
All of the above show decently on Firefox (a few sign show in neither Firefox or Opera).
Also I had to fiddle more in Opera to get Greek and Cyrillic to show.
This is of course not a wish to get a more Firefox-like browser, because Opera is better in most other respects.

I don't have the fonts for the first three on my computer, so I only get squares in any browser.
Confirmed about symbols 880-883 not showing on Opera while displaying on Firefox. Meanwhile, IE and Webkit seem to display far less of these, so maybe my praise of Webkit earlier was unfounded (that said, Firefox is breaking the Unicode standard on at least some characters).
I should add though, I have no problems with Greek like on http://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/Δίσιγμα nor with Cyrillic like on http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Сампи_(буква)

This thread title is not good. Opera does have real Unicode support. The missing glyphs in the Greek and Coptic character set don't display in Opera because I have no font with those glyphs defined (AFAIK). Likewise for the other non-standard character sets.
I can also confirm this, so Firefox must be using a fallback font to display them, but if they don't exist in my selected font they should be shown as .notdef glyphs, otherwise the problem is concealed.

Opera's also using a fallback, since not all the characters that are displayed are actually present in Times New Roman (at least on XP, might be different in Vista/7).
