Ctrl-W or Ctrl-F4 while in pdf closes Opera 10.51

Anyone else experience this: when in a pdf opened in Opera (Adobe Reader plugin), selecting either Ctrl-W or Ctrl-F4 to close the tab closes Opera.

I have this situation on two different computers.
- both running XP Pro SP3
- one is new Dell something (supplied by my work)
- one is 3 yr old HP notebook

Thanks

Are you sure you're using the Adobe Reader plugin and not the Adobe Acrobat plugin? See this thread

It is the plugin that installs with Acrobat Reader 9.2.0.

I should mention that i didn't have this problem with the previous version of Opera. (Not sure exactly which version that was.)
A third computer has the same problem (Acer Aspire One).

This also isn't pdf specific. I regularly use Ctrl-W or Ctrl-F4 to close tabs. This function works fine on regular websites, but any pdf that I happen to be in -- have clicked on the pdf so that I can use the cursor keys to scroll -- crashes Opera when Ctrl-W or Ctrl-F4 are used.

I now remember this came up before. I don't think Opera is crashing. The thread I linked to is a different issue that doesn't affect Adobe Reader, but only Adobe Acrobat.

Using the PDF-XChange plugin solves the problem — it just beeps if you try to close the tab with focus on the plugin. If I use the Adobe Reader 9.3.1 plugin Opera closes here too, whether with a local PDF file or one downloaded from a link.

I found the earlier thread and did some more testing.

Ctrl W works OK in Opera 10.1 using the Adobe Reader plugin, but it takes two attempts, after the first attempt a blank tab remains. Reloading the page after using Ctrl W to get the blank tab crashes Opera 10.1. Ctrl W closes the blank tab.
