YouTube Won't Log In
Recent upgrade from 10.10 to 10.51 under Windows XP Pro SP3.Never had much problem with YouTube on Opera, videos always played OK for instance.
Seemed to be OK on 10.51, but I then found that if I went to a channel page, the buttons for "uploads", "favourites" etc. didn't work.
They highlight if I hover over them, but clicking on them does nothing.
Looking at other YouTube related threads on here, I assumed that this was probably a cookie problem.
I deleted all my YouTube related cookies, and tried again.
I now have an even worse problem, I can't log in!
When I click on "Sign in" all that happens is that data starts being transferred (my router lights are flashing like mad!) and the progress bar alternately shows "Connecting to remote host www.google.com" and "Setting up secure connection...".
It just sits cycling back and forward between those two messages, and never goes any further.
All the other "sign in" links do exactly the same.
I've tried clearing the cache, clearing the YouTube cookies again, but it makes no difference.
I've tried all the "Identify as" and "Mask as" options too, and they make no difference.
I looked at the Google cookies, and there are hundreds of them, which I don't relish deleting one by one, which seems to be the only way of doing it!
I don't want to delete all my cookies as I have loads of things saved in them on loads of other sites.
Looking at the site preferences for YouTube, under the "cookies" tab, "Ask me before accepting cookies" is checked, and greyed out so I can't de-select it. Is that normal?
Anyone any suggestions as to what else I can try?
YouTube seems to be working OK as it was before, but the problem with the link buttons on the channel pages not working hasn't gone away, so this whole exercise was a waste of time anyway, and I now really wish that I hadn't deleted the YouTube cookies!
Needless to say everything is working perfectly on YouTube with IE, Firefox, Chrome and Safari............

Have you checked your Security Protocols?
Go to Tools>Preferences (Ctrl + F12)>Advanced>Security>Security Protocols. I checked my Security Protocol settings which I believe are the default. All 3 (SSL 3, TLS 1, & TLS 1.1) are checked, and the first 5 in Details are unchecked. Everything beginning with 168 bit 3-DES (RSA/SHA) is checked.

Thanks for that choope.
My Security Protocols look different to yours.
I have a fourth option at the top which is labelled "TLS 1.2".
That is checked, and TLS 1.1 isn't checked.
The only ones below which are checked are
168 BIT 3-DES (RSA/SHA)
128 BIT ARC4 (RSA/MD5)
128 BIt ARC4 (RSA/SHA)
The others are all unchecked.
I've tried putting them to be the same as yours, i.e. all checked except the first five, but it's made no difference to the problem logging in to YouTube.
Can anyone confirm what the defaults actually are for these security settings, as I'm surprised that mine and choope's are so different.

DaveHawley,
I changed the graphic. The one you saw before was from a UNIX version of Opera. I had to use another laptop with Win XP with a screenshot program in it. All 4 (SSL 3, TLS 1, TLS 1.1, & TLS 1.2 should be checked. I don't have a YouTube account, however, I can log into ebay with 10.51 when others complain they can't.

choope, that's brilliant.
I just checked the TLS 1.1 option, and it now works!
I've left all my other settings the same as yours, and I'll keep them like that unless someone says different.
Why they were different to yours I have no idea, as I've never knowingly changed them!
Anyway, I'm now back to my original problem, that if I go to a YouTube channel page, none of the buttons work.
Anyone any ideas on that?
