IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO UNDO widget alternate install paths "desktop" "start menu" ...
Massive bug : Widget installerIt seems that once you choose "desktop" "start menu" etc for alternate widget install locations ... you can never undo it.
Yes, theoretically when you install widgets each time -- you can choose not to have them appear in these locations -- but that is not a fix!
WHERE IN THE USER INTERFACE CAN YOU GO TO PERMANENTLY UNDO THE ALTERNATE WIDGET INSTALL PATHS?
-- desktop
-- start menu
-- etc ...
WHERE IN THE INI FILES IS THE ALTERNATE WIDGET PATH UNDO...
I have no idea where in the ini files you can undo this ... and a lot of people will be making this mistake.
The "widget upgrade" is a one time event in the user interface that is unaccessible once its done ... and that is where the problem is.
ANY AND ALL USER LEVEL WIDGET SETTINGS should be permanently available under some new title like "widget maintenance" ... not some ephemeral upgrade user interface that can never be accessed again.
And, on 10.51 the widget properties are totally inaccessible or not working.
