What happened to feeds ?

RSS and atom feeds support was one of the most important features of OM, which had existed ever since I started to use OM.
The move into v5 betas saw a new feed reader being promised and feed support being disabled.
However now we have a v5 final with the same feed reader implemented as a bookmark. But feeds are no more shown on top of a webpage thus practically disabling any new feed additions.
The current Opera Mobile release does not support feeds at all.
A built-in feed reader is very important for a mobile browser since a mobile user would not want to keep a seperate app for feed reading.
What are Opera's plans regarding feeds ?
Is anything new coming ? Or is Opera planning premium versions of the Mobile and Mini browsers with feeds support ?
Any info from an official would be appreciated smile

confused This works just fine on my SE K800. (worked). Have you checked config: for power user settings? You should have 'Show feedindex' enabled.

What tha heck yikes I have lost the feedindex as well confused Bug report should be posted ASAP!

EDIT: I could swear it worked at first on the version I have. I suppose some minor server side update has disabled them.

More or less it's a week the feeds icon don't show at the top of any page, work in progress I guess sherlock ,

I was wondering whether the missing issue would have been fixed before someone started a topic bigsmile

Done, but how to get new ones while feedindex does not work confused I guess the only way is to ask someone sitting at desktop browser to post the URL bigsmile

For me i store all my feedlinks on m.delicious.com on desktop via firefox, so that I can slowly load them everytime i hard reset my phone. Wish OM5 stored feeds just like OM4.2....it's a tedious affair to add 10-15 feeds. sad

I have no idea. Haven't heard about it before. I'll see if I can find out what's going on.

@ManneS In fact the bug has been there for over a week. I cannot tell for sure since I mainly use 4.2, but definitely for at least a week.

You can still manually subscribe to feeds by directly going to a feed address or finding the feed address posted somewhere on the site (usually will be marked with the RSS icon, RSS/ATOM/XML buttons, or a Subscribe to... link) and accessing the feed.

Same here. But i found a rather tedius work around. Go to your feeds list in opera mini 4, open a feed. Copy/paste the feed address, should look something like this: feed://view/0//http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032117/device/rss/rss.xml. Close v4. Open v5. On the home screen, address field, paste the feed address, when it loads, click subscribe. You'll now have the rss feed in v5. Repeat this process for all you other feeds. It takes some time, but worked for me.
