Opera mail client, password

Hi, I'd like Opera mail client not to show my mails without me entering my accounts' passwords, how can i do that? (is it clear what I'm asking?)
i mean: i don't want people (this is a shared PC, and Opera is the main browser in use) to be able to see my mails when they open Opera.
Thanks in advance.
Juan.

Welcome to the My Opera community!

You can't really do that in Opera. That's more of an Operating System feature, in which you should create a separate, password-protected user profile for your Operating system and use that.

In Opera, you can goto tools -> preferences -> advanced -> security and set up a master password and set it to protect your passwords. This would allow you to stop people from fetching new messages on your mail account (if you clear your username and password from the mail account's properties).

I've tried to to as suggested by burnout, but without success.

First, when I enter the master password, and confirm it, the "OK" field remains grayed out, and I'm left with the options "Quit" and "Help" (or whatever they are in English; my operating system is in Italian). Is there a solution for this?

Second, when I remove the password for the email account, I get an error when I try to read mail. If no password is recorded for the email account, Opera should prompt for a password when it needs one. That's what Thunderbird and Outlook do, and it would solve the problem without the need for the master password.

I don't share my computer, but I travel with it, and I don't want to use any software that accesses personal data and doesn't allow password protection.
