Opera Mini 5.0 lags on my BB3300 + anyone have OTA 4.2 download?

Hello. I love Opera Mini. Honestly, it's amazing. I downloaded 5.0 and it took off my old amazing 4.2 Opera Mini browser. That wasn't a big deal except 5.0 LAGS on my BB Curve 8330 on Verizon. It's not just a second of lag, rather the hourglass comes up every single time I try to download a page. Anyone have this experience and a fix?

As a solution, I simply want my old Opera Mini back. However, I don't have a cable so I can't download from my computer to the BB 8330. Anyone have an OTA link? They used to have them. Someone has to have it up on a mirror site somewhere!

Thanks!!!!

Or go to http://m.opera.com using built-in browser, select 'Other download options' and choose the version you want. Opera Mini 4.2 versions at m.opera.mini should now be renamed as 'Opera Mini 4', and thus you should get version, which can be run without update notices.

Works now. Thank you.

Any idea why my Opera Mini 5.0 might lag so much? I have enough memory on the BB to run the program...

Opera mini is known to lag on many phones including high memory smartphones due to its new unique UI..
Try closing all other applications and run om 5.0.

That's awful. Why did they ruin such a great product? The old opera mini worked perfectly!

It's very strange because there's no lag on Sony Ericsson K800, which I would no longer call as a high memory smartphone confused Therefore I would claim it's not just the amount of RAM you have but the way the RAM is allocated on different phones.

Right now it's stuck on a page and it's just all white. What can I do to get this thing to work again? I don't want to do a battery pull. There is important data on this page I need to access. Kind of hard to explain but can I do anything here?

Unfortunately forum is no good place to seek urgent help. I understood you were able to download Opera Mini 4. So, do you have the same issue on OM4 as well?

What is the URL you try to access?

Yes it lags on blacberry...I have stopped using it on 8830..it's surprising coz beta 2 didn't lag that much..it only lagged at heavy pages..but final lags even when i open menu..nothing else is running in background except bb core services(mail, browser) which can't be closed..just use opera 4.2 it still the best

Opera mini has always been a little bit slow on Blackberry phones. 4.2 was running smoothly on my wife's SE V630i (crappy phone from Vodafone) but has always been a little laggy on my old BB 8800.

The situation is pretty much the same now. OM5 sometimes works like crap on my brand new BB 9700 Bold. Lame if you ask me.
