Opera stalls on Google Calendar webpage with "Setting up secure connection"

When trying to reach the webpage http://www.google.com/calendar my Opera tab stalls. In the statusbar he is continuously switching between 'Setting up secure connection' and 'Connecting with internethost www.google.com' without progress.

IE is still able to reach the webpage without difficulty. And on another computer Opera has also no problems.
So my problem is only on one computer. Strange, because last friday I could visit the website without difficulty...

I noticed other people on the net who have this problem as well (although often with older versions of Opera) but I found no solutions. My version is 10.51.
For instance:
http://groups.google.com/group/opera.general/browse_thread/thread/d24ca76df3851518
where it is said to
"DELETE THIS FILE C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\opcacrt6.dat"

I'm having the same problem with other Google services, and ironically, cannot open the document you referred to because of it.

Hi there,

I have the same problem, but deleting this file didn't help. Opera is still switching between "setting up secure" and
"connecting to remote host". It's weird, cause the google logins worked the last days, and after upgrading to the
final of 10.51 it stopped working. 10.50 and the last beta of 10.51 worked so far.

Gorann,

you're the man! Going to
Tools-Preferences - > Advanced -> Security Protocols
and checking TLS 1.1 did the trick for me.

(SSL3, TSL 1 and TLS 1.2 were already checked)
(and TLS v1.0 128 bit ARC4 (RSA/SHA) in details was also already checked)

Maybe a final follow up question: how come this became unchecked out of the blue?
So can you explain (what I did wrong) what caused this problem?

Regards
