The Misunderstood God
I finished reading ‘The Misunderstood God” The lies religion tells about God, by Darin Hufford. Excellent book, the author approaches it with God is love and since God is love address what love is (from Scripture) love is ….1 Corinthians 13 and then looks at those aspects of love. He shows how religion (and the world) has twisted the meaning of love and then discusses what love is. Well worth the time and money to read this book. All right, Willie... I'm going to play the devil's advocate (I hope you understand I'm just doing this to spark some discussion).
The author says "such and such" about how religion has twisted the meaning of love. What makes you think that this author has it any more "right" than any other author who might claim just the opposite? Suppose another author were to use the bible to demonstrate that what Mr. Hufford is saying is categorically incorrect? How does one arrive at the truth?

Love never seeks its own is Scripture, and the author makes a pretty good case showing (using examples) of what we have called love but has/had and underlined agenda. Some of the examples he used I can say I have saw, seen, heard, and even used in the past thinking it was love. But is it really, if love never seeks its own?
