Question re: adblocking in Opera

Hi,

I'm just wondering how Opera handles adblocking. I'm on a connection that has a faily restrictive monthly usage limit, so my main concern is conserving bandwidth usage. Adblock in Firefox works well - it actually prevents ads from loading, so they don't consume bandwidth. With Chrome though, it doesn't have a 'true' adblock - all it does is load the ads up, then hide them after they've loaded.

If I use, say, Fanboy's adblock list with Opera, will it prevent ads from loading like in Firefox, or just load then hide them like Chrome?

thanks.

What I know is that the URL Filter prevents the connection itself, otherwise it wouldn't work for e.g. tracking/stat sites.
