10.51 3315 on XP: strange Javascript Problems

I've noticed that JS seems to behave strangely since 10.51:

- here on the opera forum the text in the search field does not disappear when I click into the form field, as it does in Firefox (and I think I remember it did in earlier version of Opera)

- in Google Maps panning the map and zooming with the scroll wheel works, using the interface element for zoom and scroll does not. Here I get an error message:

JavaScript - http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/de_ALL/mapfiles/221a/maps2/mod_ctrapp.js

Linked script not loaded
JavaScript - http://maps.gstatic.com/cat_js/intl/de_ALL/mapfiles/221a/maps2/%7Bmod_exdom,mod_kbrd,mod_lyctr,mod_tfcapp,mod_lyrs,mod_qdt,mod_trtlr,mod_reldr,mod_cbl,mod_ac2,mod_sg2,mod_dl,mod_act,mod_blyr,mod_poly%7D.js

Linked script not loaded
JavaScript - http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/de_ALL/mapfiles/221a/maps2/mod_lt_c.js

...and the yellow "Loading" box on top never disappears. Can anyone confirm this? Or is it just my installation, should I possibly reinstall opera?

Strange thing, on a second computer here I don't have any problems, too. I am using Opera for a very long time now, maybe at some point I made some setting that messed the whole thing up? Can anyone point me to a setting that might influence javascript execution?

I already checked:
- site preferences: normal
- user javascript: none defined

Thanks!
