Mass Storage connections will block access on the phone to all but the c: drive for the duration of the connection. The phone isn't really designed to be used at all if you're in mass storage mode; mass storage mode is not designed for extended connections either. If you're just using it when connecting to computers without PC Suite/Ovi Suite installed perhaps the "Image Transfer" or "Media Transfer" options would be better suited as they don't have this caveat.
So if you've installed Opera onto a memory card for example it won't work while connected. But if it is definitely still failing after disconnecting then there's a problem. Does it still work after disconnecting if you haven't tried to run Opera while connected?
