Image of 16,683 x 18,764 pixels...

Hi.

It happends sometimes that Opera (10.51 / FR / WinXP) load 1 picture and finds that it has a huuuuuudge size of 16,683 x 18,764 pixels...
This problem occurs on differents web sites.

Here is an example :

Empying cache & reloading page changes nothing...
Displaying the same page with an other browser is OK, picute is displayed as expected with correct size.

Just for developpers, 16,683 x 18,764 is 0x412B x 0x494C ; seems to be ascii "A+IL".

Any idea ?

Regards,

Fab

A link to the page would have been helpful. I cannot reproduce the problem here. The images above that post are all 640x480. Which image are you checking the properties of?

Hi Pesala.

On that page, user «liodel» did post this message : link to message on «Lundi 25 Janvier 2010, 12:29:27» (01/25/2010, 12:29 PM).

Just below his message, in his signature, there is a picture which source is : http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/9754/4af13f368d45c1fb9403bafet7.gif
This picture is seen as hudge by Opera ; I'm checking its properties on the screenshot I made.

The problem is not linked to imageshack hosting. I know imageshack service may be sometime buggy.
The problem does occur randomly on pictures (maybe only GIFs, but I need to check this), from different hosts.
In my example, problem occurs with an picture hosted by imageshack, but I've seen it several time with pictures hosted somewhere else.

Regards,

Fab

The image shows as 690 x 25 pixels for me — both if I load it directly from your link, or from the forum thread. Issues that are hard to reproduce are also very hard to fix.

I'm also wondering about the "0 bits per pixel" which seems to indicate corrupt data. No idea why though ...

A 1 KB image that's that large? That's some drastic compression ...
