I must have stumped the panel. LOL smile I take it there is no stopping it from downloading. That's a shame. I thought I found the perfect email client. Still it looks better than Microsoft! smile

Are you talking about importing mail (through the import wizard) or receiving mail from the server (after setting up an account)?

If you're downloading from your e-mail server then all you have to do is hit the red cross at the bottom of the sidebar where it says fetching messages

Let me explain it better. I hooked up a gmail account to it which by the way I have never deleted anything from so I have about 30000 emails in it over the last 5 years. I don't mind it downloading all the email but it keeps downloading it over and over. Yes the red x stops it for a minute then it starts downloading again. How do you unhook an account from opera?

This is similar to jose4040's problem. I filter all of my email accounts with Mailwasher then bring them into Opera. I have all accounts set to "Not" check automatically. But ever now and then Opera downloads a new email automatically. Did happen before 10.50 on Windows7x64.

I found how to "unhook" an account lol. I meant how do you delete it. smile Thanks for the help. I actually wanted it to download all my messages but I had to give up on that idea. So I just went to gmail and set it to download only new messages. I would no more get all my email gone through and it would download all the old stuff again.

You are right Reogem this email client is definitely not one to filter out the spam LOL. I sure would love to see some improvements on Opera. It's got the potential to be one of the best email clients out there.

I meant to ask this question in the above post.

Is there a way to stop Opera M2 from fetching email automatically? I do have all of my accounts in Opera M2 set to not auto fetch. But it still fetches email now and again.

If it's an IMAP account, turn off idle for the account in accounts.ini
