MAPI support

I use M2 as my primary email handler. MAPI support so I can right-click to attach files and so on is essential for a default mail client.

I'd also love to see MAPI support within Opera.

Me too.
It's incredible that years go by with users asking for support for this useful and basic program, but nothing happens.

For those who don't know what MAPI means:
It's the standard mail API of Windows. For example if you use the Sniping Tool and then click on "send screenshot as email" it can use MAPI to create a new mail with the screenshot as an attachment in your standard email program.

My vote for MAPI support!

I really like the Opera Mail client and its seamless integration into the browser, but MAPI support is so basic that it just has to be included in a serious mailing client. I mean, it is not a gimmick for some Windows users just for fun, it is a basic feature that really speeds up working and increases productivity.

If M2 wants to be a real alternative, this is definitely missing.

I'm still hoping for it!

Cool! Thank you!

I didn't know this.

Of course it's only a hack, but it's the best we've got until now...

The MAPI4Opera is a nice idea (just realized that there was a new version compatible with newer Opera versions). However, it is not too reliable - it just simulates opening the Add attachement dialog and enters the filename. There is just too much that can go wrong (e.g. losing the focus of the window etc.).
It works sometimes for me, but in 60 % of the cases at best. Unfortunately.

I tried something similar once, when MAPI4Opera was not supporting Opera 10.X, but stopped when I realized that there are problems that just can't be solved with an external program.

In addition - having to deal with such problems is a big obstacle when migrating to M2 from another mail client. It would have been for me at least, I was just new to Opera and thought this was such a minor problem that it should be solved with the next release, unfortunately, I was wrong.

Native MAPI support is needed :-)

In the past I used Outlook express just for that feature, It's quite handy.

PD: BTW I wouldn't pay for the 3rd party extension to do just "fix" missing MAPI link between the OS and Opera.
