Odd behavior on reddit comment pages
For some reason I'm not able to hide the first comment on reddit comment pages.For example, go to this page: http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/bp49v/island_pic/ and try to hide the first comment (click the "[ - ]" right after the timestamp). This works on comments further down though.
Does anyone know what's going on here?
Confirmed. Sorting the comments doesn't help. It seems to work OK on Firefox.

Have you confirmed it's a Opera problem, and not just crappy javascript code one the website? Do you expect Opera to write code to specifically work around badly written websites?
Looking at Sputnik tests that measure Javascript compliance to the spec, Opera is way out in the lead, which suggests Reddit is relying on some quirk of Firefox, which is fixed in Opera.

Collapsing the first comment works about 20% of the time. If anyone cares, here is the bug reported on reddit's side: http://code.reddit.com/ticket/788
