Gigantic Opera Cache

I have Opera 10.51 running on Windows XP SP3, ever since installing it my hard drive space has been disappearing, I only recently realised it was Opera eating up all my free space.

My Cache size is set to about 100MB on the preferences and "Empty on exit" is checked. This doesn't seem to be the case though since I manually checked the size of my cache and it was nearly 30GB!! Clicking "Empty now" doesn't seem to work at all.

I just went to:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Opera\Opera\cache
and hit delete. At which point I got about half of my hard drive back!!

Hopefully this will help others with disappearing free space!

AFAIR, Opera has NEVER respected the cache size setting WHILE running. It will clean the cache to the set size when exiting (no need to have "empty on exit"). That's also the main reason why shutting down Opera, after running for a long time, takes sometimes insane amounts of time to close the actual Opera.exe process. My 2c's.

Bug? Report it, if forum search doesn't yield any results.

Opera: fix the cache settings so that Opera will respect the setting.
