USA will no longer be "the sole remaining superpower" and you won't miss that. You will still be a part of the most powerful single country in the world by most metrics that matter, including compared with China. 50 years from now may be a different story. While this is set to be Asia's century, the Spanish and Portugese speaking parts of the Americas are doing well too, and are no longer mere banana republics.

I do too.
I agree with Jax's statement about not being the sole superpower anymore, but Bretton-Woods has assured us of a sound financial future for decades to come. It might not be nearly as powerful as it once was, but it will be as good once as it ever was. right

Heck, they have enough trouble as it is crushing potential revolutions and censoring it's own citizens.

China has done what no other nation could do in just 3-4 decades it has brought its economy from a crap to be on par with the world leading nation Us. It brough 300 million people out of poverty and built an infastructure to accomodate thieri migration to cities leaving the farms and villages. They produce 50-60 thousand engineers a year and they steal all the intellectual property they can get their hands on. They put the interest of China first the people second the world third. They spend more and more to modernize their military without a clear threat and have just recently developed a genuine capable space program. With the stupendous decision of the Obama administration to defund our shuttle program thus leaving the space race to our "Friends" Russia and China, we are 20 years from an army capable of fielding insurgency troops as all our navigation and comunications are in space where we wont reign. This brings to question the borders and sovereign nations of North America. With Chiese middleclass consumer appetite growing they will need 2 important things that their manipulations cannot create. The first is sources of energy. The already are lcoking up world contracts with suppliers for long term delivery, but that can only last as long as the source is available. New sources will need to be tapped as Sauidi Arabia is expected only to provide 50-60 more years at current consumption. The majority lies in the western United States, Pacific and gulf coasts, Alaska and Wyoming,Mntana etc etc, This is locked up by the environmentaists. Some think their is more oil reserves here than the middle east and russia combinded. The second desire of the vocal middle class would be to find women for the nearly 30 million male's that are coming of age as a result of the one child policy that wiped out a whole generation of females robbing the nation of enough women to cause a large group of viral males who may cause the nation to armed conflict to quench their need. Just a thought of course. But if we can get rid of Obama we aint going no where. No one processes innovation as readily and as efficiently as the United States. We have the innovation, the spirit that drives industry. When the world seems poised to count us out remember that in WWII we had factories manned by women. We single handedly supported the British Empire with our ability to ship goods at faster rates than Germans could sink our ships. We faced German and Japanese soldiers at the same time. We rationed our consumer appetite and formed one united force focused on self survival. We know whats happening now and just as usual we are adapting to the enemy. Just the enemy is an ideology within our leadership and having never been exercised and shown to be flawed we must play it out and bring with its experienvce a long memory to never return to the excperiment and we should do fine. Leave entitlements to the very capable european governments that can provide these to their people based on the scale of the nation. but trying to give similar entiltlments to a nation of 300 million is ludacris. We pay taxes and expect a nuclear armed capable military, infrastructure and servicesl we dont need healthcare social security medicare and so on

hmm, let me guess which efficiencies of your industry you're referring to. GM? AIG? The whole bank sector? yeah, kinda efficient. the process of "accept change, process failure' focused on returning to profit or ceasing to exists altogether" isn't US invented, that's how it works globally.

as for the German. i don't mind to be called German as long as it isn't ambiguous as to whom you actually refer. and i didn't wrote anything about being German in my post. it's simply my location.

Eh?
You don't seem to understand how this works. We (Americans) invent something, then send it to China for them to mass produce it. (seeing as how they are in the midst of their industrial revolution now that they have shaken off some archaic Maoist policies)
They don't pirate it at all, they just put "made in China" on the finished product.

This is an economic cycle. The US economy will be booming and the politics will change allowing women and other races to be president. America will be leader in technology and economy and no other country can touch. I think America learned from the economy and technology (foreign cars vs American cars) the hard way. But a struggle makes one much stronger after it is done....just look at Ford it is about to be more trustable than Toyota who moves foward even though you dont want you. bigsmile

well if your buy the ticket in Florida you want low odd numbers like they have on NASCAR like this would be a good pick (0,00,3,6,9,69) but choosing those champion combo's means other bubba types who have understanding have already reckoned the winning numbers. Or just buy some stock...its real cheap now, more so for you with the echange rate so good. Why don't you get some , some Citibank and GM?

You are right about change. As much change that has from agrarian to an industrial society. There will not be libraries, nor network television news departments, nor record companies, no bookstores. Trucks, ships, buses, automobiles and Airplanes will be operated without operators. The Education and Health establishments as we know them today will not exist.

Well there's always the Chinese example, if you want to follow it.

Can you prove that US is not actually following Scotland?

I think in less than 25 yrs America wont overcome Arab nations, but it may be opposite.
After 25yrs then they'll be friends.
And there will be still more debts owing to China, which may lead to another enemy like Iraq,Korea and Iran and maybe more enemies,
not unless
1. America stop posting their designs to China.as it will have more unemployed,
2. America start donating less dollars in other Countries including African Continent.
3. America start concentrating more in peace talks/keepers,than posting soldiers for war purpose in other Countries.
About technology it will always be a fair competator,as it does not descriminate when it comes to competency.

Can you prove that we are? I thought that was the point of most of our illustrious preachers and experts at this forum.

And what is your point? That everyone follows someone, except U.S. who follows no one?

This is too simple. We are all the same. U.S. future is as predictable as anyone else's.

Let the Chinese do it.

Another point where the Chinese seem similar to the American. Both have a historic and ingrained aversion to empirial oppression, but may end up as involuntary imperialists.

The US will be kings of the world. And if we have another sycophantic leader like Tony Blair, who's arsekissing is second to none, then we in the UK will reap the benefits as well. We will have invaded Iran by then, put a pipeline in, trimmed down the populatiion (and the beards), and I predict that a Disneyland or Disneyworld resort will be running in Afghanisraq by 2035. I for one will be collecting the free tokens so that I don't have to queue up at any of the rides. I would urge other Opera users to do the same.
Also i predict the US will have given us a bird fitter than Marilyn Monroe, or have the technology to make one.
The above 2 things are not a lot to ask for.

They produce 50-60 thousand engineers a year and they steal all the intellectual property they can get their hands on.

China has been on the same trajectory as Japan and the Tigers (that band name still vacant). The only difference is that China started even poorer, and of course that it is a lot bigger and more diverse than the predecessors. Countries like Vietnam is following China a decade or so behind. Must be something about eating with chopsticks. Or indeed it can have something to do with social engineering.

South Africa can't even rule itself out of a wet paper bag. It's just another African basket case and will be as bad as Zimbabwe in 5 years, let alone 25.

If you used that avatar to tell us you are "hindsighted" or quasi-blind,i advice you go get yourself re-conceived by an eagle;you'll sure get a super sight.Or better still, read b4 you comment. Just the nitty-grittys of this forum!!

I don't know about 25 years from now, but the present can be pretty entertaining. Here's a funny clip of an online seminar going on when the stock market lost 1000 points last week. Hilarious. lol

Republicans will still dislike Obama.

Karzai will still look like a fop.

Comedians will still be making fun of Toronto mayor, Rob Ford.
