Gmail Crashing

My university uses gmail for our emails, which means I am logging in to gmail several times a day...which means opera crashes several times a day. I am using 10.51, and based on other suggestions, I have tried deleting the googletalk plugin. However, it seems to reappear every time I visit gmail, which means that in order for opera to work, I have to delete the googletalk plugin each time I start opera up. Otherwise, Opera crashes without fail.
I have done a clean install of opera, and have tried masking as firefox, all to no avail.

So disabling plugins appears to allow gmail to load without crashing opera.
However, I am still wondering why the googletalk plugin consistently appears. I will delete the googletalk plugin, close all open tabs, and it will still be deleted. However, the next time I start up Opera, the googletalk plugin will be there. Is this happening to anyone else, and is anyone else seeing Opera crash when the GTalk client loads?

Yes the same thing is happening to me as well, and I am so tired of deleting the plug-in every few hours that I am seriously thinking of switching to chrome. Can someone out there please suggest a solution?

Add to plugin-ignore.ini(Opera\defaults) the plugin that causes opera to crash.
Krita.org
Opera: 12.1x

Thanks artmil. Could you specify the filename for the googletalk plugin?

I'm having the same problems as WasAPasserBy. I followed artmil's directions to edit the plugin-ignore.ini, but cannot save the ini file once edited. I've had Opera shutdown while editing, so I can't imagine why it won't let me add the google talk plugin. Any other solutions for this problem?
