Opera 10.51 update FAILS on win 7!

Everything was fine till I downloaded the opera update that updates the browser to 10.51. After I updated, I got the following error message. (see images/hyperlink).faint

OperaError.png

I am using Windows 7 x64 ultimate edition
CPU: intel i7 Xtreme
RAM: 12gb DDR3

I went ahead and restarted my PC at least 5 times. I uninstalled and reinstalled fresh and same error.
I noticed when I downgrade to say 9.6, it works fine....But I would like to be updated if thats not too much trouble. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix? I don't know what to do other than go back to using firefox.....no

Thanks for any help. Regards.

And how exactly am I supposed to "appreciate" it when it doesn't start? doh

If I did not make it clear the first time I am looking for an intelligent response that can help me, not hair brain comments about how it may be working on your machine. That in itself means NOTHING.

To anyone else wanting to post a comment that does NOT help the problem, don't.
If by chance you know of a solution to this problem, then your post is welcomed and encouraged. star

I have tested and can confirm 10.2 Alpha 1 works as well as version 9.2. However, once again, when either is updated to 10.51, the error message mentioned in my first post appears and Opera does not start at all no matter if it is run in compatibility mode. It also fails if I try to run as admin as well. So far, nothing works. Firefox on the other hand works fine as well as I.E.

I prefer Opera but will use Firefox if I cant find a solution. Thank you.

Trolls fighting. LOL.

I would start by checking for UAC blocking access to your profile directory. Disable UAC, install Opera and see if it will start. For simplicity's sake I would install in single user mode in the default dir (c:\Program Files (x86)\Opera)

7/UAC/LUA can get pissy with apps installed in custom locations.

Another thing to check is resident AV "protection" blocking access to the Profile Directory.

That's it I am uninstalling opera. There is no help available in these forums.

I hope the moderators see this and think real hard.

For asking for help I get 2 lamers sprouting foolish comments. School kids maybe? or just idiots? maybe both. I'm going back to my previous browser, at least I know the forum there has intelligent people who don't made stupid comments. They actually help. What a concept.

As for the second comment, UAC has nothing to do with it if it worked at least one time. Did you even read my complete 1st post? or did you jump to a conclusion like a fool and sprout off a comment to insult me and the other poster as well as give a post that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the problem? I say both.....

Horrible forums. No help at all. I will never download it again. I don't know what is worse. Opera Forums, or Microsoft support......

@ Moderators,
Feel free to lock or delete this entire post. It got no answer. Not even a little helpful. All it got was comments from 2 fools who know everything about nothing. And this was my first post asking for help. Whatever, uninstalled. Good riddance Opera.

End.

I offered several things for you to check (Profile Dir (ownership/permissions), UAC, LUA and AV).

You chose to be an ass.

This forum has a lot to offer, but, unfortunately, that sometimes get buried underneath trolls acting like 6 year olds.
