close/minimize tab buttons missing
Hello!I've searched this forum and looked at the knowledge base, but I haven't found an answer to this - after upgrading to Opera 10.51, the buttons to close or minimize tabs are gone. This is not referring to hiding or showing the menu bar - if I show the menu bar, these buttons are not present. I find the option to enable the close button on the tab icons to be very difficult to use (I tend to have a large number of tabs open), plus if the close button is on the tab, it is then very difficult to click on the icon to minimize the tab.
J.
Please bring it back.

I wonder why you couldn't find anything on this? There are dozens of recent threads.
I entered "minimize" in the search field at the top of the forum and this was the first thread in a long list of results.
This thread was the first result when I searched for "close."

I don't know why my search didn't find those topics either - perhaps I was over-specifying my search terms or something....
At any rate, I dragged the button to the tab bar, and will see how it works.
Thank you very much!

I agree, I miss being able to have the close tab button in the upper right corner. These days I mostly use keyboard shortcuts for most operations [ctrl-w to close a tab], or I have a close tab entry at the bottom of my context menu, but I still all too often miss that button.
Please bring it back.
I normally use the ctrl-w shortcut. But if a page is set-up such that it is completely filled by flash content (NHL TV pages), the shortcut doesn't work (haven't tried the ctrl-F4 shortcut). Hence the desire for a proper close-tab button (solution provided in prior post).
