Opera mini not working on iphone

i have installed opera mini today on my iphone and was very much excited abt it but when i opened it, a window opens with red bar on the top and apple processing icon (the round spinning wheel) is there nothing else. I downloaded with app store and also i restarted my iphone. I left the opera on for at least 20 min but still its the same problem. Nothing is happening its just struck there. Is anybody else is facing this problem. Plz help me, thnks.
P.S i have attached the screenshot of the app.

Same thing happening on my iPod touch first gen. Just the red header and spinning animation. I've also restarted my device. Safari and Facebook work, so I'm sure I have a working Internet connection. I hope there's a workaround soon. smile

I to am having the same exact issue on my iPhone 3gs. The app loads up but only shows an apple spinner wheel at the top left as if it's loading.

The spinning animation indicates that Opera Mini is trying to download the First Start Page from our servers. If this doesn't work right now, please try again later.

I'm unable to startup Opera mini on the iphone. It just gets stuck with the opera mini title and the spinning wheel forever. Tried reinstalling the app like 3 times and also restarted my iphone twice after installation. Any other suggestions guys? I will try to provide any information if you can guide me!

Ok this worked for me. Disable wi-fi upon starting up first time. Once the first page is loaded from their servers, enable wi-fi everything works as expected. Don't know y but it worked

It worked because that would bypass any local firewall issues that you were having on your WiFi network. Simple solution, really.

Mine turned out to be a firewall issue. Everything's working now. I'm happy to finally have a fast browser. Great job Opera!
