Opera Mini for iPhone feature request.
The app is awesome btw guys, I have already replaced safari with it in my dock. How do you do it?So here is my feature request (I know, "what the hell we just released it")
The only thing that I have found to be bothersome is that there is no scroll lock type feature. What I mean is after zooming and snapping to an object, it is available to float freely when I scroll up and down. Bothersome when I read text. I am sure you could implement this. You could have it so there is like a pixel parameter where if the point of contact doesn't stray any more than 16 pixels, it remains locked in. Then if you swipe left or right you could have it free scroll for like 3 seconds before locking again over an object (if positioned over one).
Keep up the great work, and cheers to the number 1 dl'd app in the app store (within the next 72 hours for sure).
Yes, congratulations on delivering another great browser and on having Apple approve it. I have a 100MB monthly limit, so I have been looking forward to this day. Well done.
However, like the grindeddown I see some room for improvements. That doesn't mean I am not satisfied with Opera mini for iPhones - it's incredibly fast, it saves visited pages to cache so that when you go back it doesn't have to load the page again (big THANK YOU for that feature), you can save pages for offline viewing, it utilizes the whole screen (unlike safari with its annoying ribbon on the bottom part of the screen) and much more. Some suggestions though:
- Please work some more on the zooming. The "see whole page" mode is of course unusable for actual reading while the "zoomed-in" mode often reguires sidewise scrolling to see the whole line. Fluent pinch-to-zoom like in safari mobile would be greatly apprectiated.
- Zoom on double tap. I am not sure how to describe this, but again, safari does this well. When you tap a page with text in safari, it zooms so that the portion of the text fully fills the screen.
- Screen reorientation. When I read in bed, which I do all the time, i want to hold the phone more or less vertically, but read the screen in landscape. Safari mobile allows that when you hold the phone upside down (with the home button up). This is important feature for me and I am sure that for other people too.
Other than that, it is a good piece of sotware and I can see myself replacing safari with opera on my dock permanently. It is not ready just yet, but hey, it is a new app.
Thanks, Opera.

So far the browser is working pretty well. Very fast. It is taking a little getting used to with the full screen, it is a little difficult to read anything on the website. One feature i would like them to improve is the Google search bar. One thing i do a lot is googling several similar queries when i am trying to find the right page. After a search using the google toolbar Opera removes the search. To change the search you then have to use the google website to change. It is much easier to jump back to the toolbar and modify the search in safari. Keeping your last search stored in the toolbar needs to be added i think.
Great work thx
