On-tab MDI buttons
I know there elsewhere are wishes to bring the top right corner mdi buttons back, however I don't really want them there to clutter my interface. I do like the close button on each tab, but I do sometimes miss the window mode button or whatever it's called. My suggestion is therefore to display the minimize and window/maximize buttons to the left of the close button when you mouseover it. That way it won't clutter the layout nor shrink the space available for text on the tabs.
Z1-Glass Skin have this but i think it will solve the MDI problems in 10.5x versions(add for opera standard skin)
maybe add for 10.52

-1, takes too much space, esp. with many tabs open -> even only close button is sometimes annoying

@serious: Read again. The two additional buttons appear or slide out as you mouseover the close button. It would take no more space than usual. I will agree though, that with many tabs open, you often can't even spare the space for just that. (which is why it can be turned off, I guess)
In my opinion we can add any small buttons to the area that is near the close button in the tab. These buttons have to be small, or 16x16 px, and be specific for each tab.

ah, I missed that (was too much looking at the image
). Buttons that extend only when hovering the area would be a good solution.

I proposed on-tab maximize button in [10.50] About that MDI.... thread. Minimize button don't needed because click on tab button itself do the same.
You could simply enable "click on tab to minimise" That'd at least give you one of the features you're looking for.

I do indeed have click on tab to minimise enabled, and yes it does work just fine. However when I occationally want to compare pages side by side the only ways I have is to either open one tab in a new window and resize the two windows, or put both tabs in a new window and tile them (to avoid messing up my other tabs). At the very least give us a "windowed" option on the tab's right click arrange menu, that works just on that tab, as opposed to cascade, which is utterly conter-productive when I have heaps of tabs open.

It's there, but it's called restore.

I stand corrected. Ignore my last post then

Bad choice of function name though imo. I never even considered clicking it since I just assumed it meant restore from minimised
Anways, thanks for pointing it out to me, Zotlan!

Agreed, though I think it's been that way since "forever" (i.e. at least Windows 3 days as far as my memory serves me).
