No way to minimize

I do not see a way to minimize this browser. The only choice I have is to close. Am I missing something here? There is no X in the top right corner, which I have windows mobile set to minimize.

There is no way to minimize any of the 10 versions from within the browser itself regrettably. However, on most versions of Windows Mobile there's a section in 'settings' called 'buttons', if you set any spare button (e.g. camera or volume up/down) to 'Today', you can hit that button whilst within Opera to return to your Today screen with access to your Start Menu, Task Manager etc.

Another solution is to get Microsoft Voice Command - you can then just say 'open today' or whatever other app you may wish to open with Opera running.

i think opera should give the minimize choice or at least there is an icon in home display if opera browser still active.
just like palringo does.

Opera Mobile 9.5 that came with my phone has this function. I am really disappointed that they opted to leave this out of future builds.

Thanks Orion for the suggestion to assign Today to a button. I found that assigning {Switch Programs (Alt-Tab)} to a button gives much more flexibility to go other programs (including the Today screen) and then back to Opera Mobile. (This option may only be available when running spb Mobile Shell or spb Pocket Plus. Both add additional program options to the assign buttons menu.)

@davisb - at least I assume you were referring to me: I've not been called 'Orion' before, but I quite like it smile

It's a useful quick fix, but the lack of any minimize option does seem like a pretty glaring omission in any browser - having said that, it doesn't bother me in the slightest as I'm so used to opening all apps via voice command now that I probably wouldn't use a minimize button anyway, but I appreciate it's an annoyance for others.

Hmmm - must not have had my glasses on - somehow miss-read your colorful name/logo as Orion - can't figure out how I got that from Garion - but thanks again for the Opera Mobile suggestion

If you have a windows hardware key on your phone or PDA, just press it and the Start Menu and top ribbon or curtain, or whatever they call it in Window Mobile 6, will pop up. Then use your Task Manager to take it from there.
