I managed to fix my white screen. I did this. (requires jail-broken iPhone/iPod with iFile)

I edited the two file's to include

DefaultServerType=Http

both files are called (reksio.ini) located in Documents folder and OperaMini.app folder. Both will need editing. Changing the one in documents only seemed to revert back in less the other was changed as well.

it automatically had the it set to DefaultServerType=Socket.

you should be able to locate this at...

/private/var/mobile/Applications/3401B643-B757-4958-B9BA-84C169546974 (I'm not sure about those long set of numbers, they could be unique and may be different per device.)

After that launch the app and go into settings / advanced / protocol / change that to HTTP

After this the app should be working fully! wink

Thats right, the file in the OperaMini.app folder is called prereksio.ini, and it doesn't have the variable "DefaultServerType"... :-(

True, it doesn't have it, add it directly as it's showen in the picture.

[MiniServer]
Http=http://mini5.opera-mini.net:80
Socket=socket://mini5.opera-mini.net:1080
DefaultServerType=Http (ADD THIS LINE)

If you can't find the file then try removing the app, rebooting iPhone/iPod then reinstall. Open the app, give it 2 mins or so. Exit the app then look for the file.

It didn't work for me neither.

I tried it on an iPod Touch 3g with jailbroken.

There are two files
/private/var/mobile/Applications/XXXXXXCHANGESONEVERYDEVICEXXXXXXX/Documents/reksio.ini
/private/var/mobile/Applications/XXXXXXCHANGESONEVERYDEVICEXXXXXXX/OperaMini.app/prereksio.ini

The second file doesn't have the DefaultServerType=Http line so I added it.
Anyway it doesn't work, and also when I press the home button and the app closes, the first file gets back to its original state with DefaultServerType=Socket

Anybody managed to make it work?

Thanks

Didn't work over here, I even tried setting the reksio.ini to read only but no luck..

I just done it again. I removed the app, reinstalled. It didn't work. So I added DefaultServerType=Http to Perekso.ini located in the OperaMini.app folder. (I didn't mess with the Perekso.ini in the documents folder. As it didn't have one. So if you have one then change that line.)

It didn't work then either, So i then disabled WIFI then tried again by just launching the app while on EDGE. It took around 10-20 secs. Though loaded up successfully. Then just changed it from Socket to Http within the app for it to work fully on WIFI.

The problem is that I have a Ipod, so i cant conect to any network. Maybe if you copied your entire Opera Mini folder to your PC through SSH and then uploaded the files to rapidshare I could put them on my iPod and see if it works, if you have the time to do this.

Not sure that would work. Though here is a link to it anyways. It's exactly like mine, with one exception. http://rapidshare.com/files/375541184/OperaMini.rar.html

Thanks Man, I got it to work using your file. I copy the previous webpage and avoid directly the first loading screen

Method use on ipod jailbreak:

1. Remove opera and reinstall
2. Start it ones and let it hang for couple of second
3. Use ifile or SSH to change reksio file in document: Modifiy DefaultServerType=socket to =Http
4 Delete datastore file from the documents directory
5 Delete all file in the documents\ds\ directory
6. get the file from rapidshare and copy datastore from it in documents directory
7. copy all files from the ds directory from rapidshare file to (suspens) documents\ds
8. Start Opera and enjoy (if it work)

PS sorry about the privacy violation using your previous visited page data....

Thanks a lot!
I'm abroad so I cannot use my 3G/GPRS/Edge connections. This however made a quick fix! smile
