v10.51, ebay and bbc.co.uk/iplayer

Hi

10.51 has added another bug - I'm getting seriously browned off.

with v10 I lost the ability to watch programmes from the bbc.co.uk/iplayer as it insisted I needed to install flashplayer despite the fact it was installed.

Now 10.51 won't let me log into ebay.

What makes it even more irritating is, Mozilla Firefox works perfectly in both cases.

Come on Opera - you may be the fastest browser in the world but then Firefox works !!

No issue with BBC iPlayer here, it works fine in Opera.

Wish I hadn't upgraded to 10.51...it should come with a health warning. I can't log in to Ebay either, I've lost the close tabs at the top right corner option, and the useful to me old toolbar has gone ....can I go back??

The toolbar - you can recover this by clicking on the Red O next to the Tabs - go to setting | toolbars and tick main toolbar

I'm glad you're having problems too - the previous messages were kind of depressing.

OK What is the solution guys - what have you done or not done that I have done. Opera bugs reports is v. silent.

What freaks me is that Firefox works out of the box and opera doesn't.

Ideas ?

Ignore the signature line - my setups are

WinXP Pro , Vista ?? and now Win 7 Ultimate... on a number of machines - Toshiba laptops * 4 and a home built tower.
All are running ZoneAlarm Extreme Security, for what it's worth.

I haven't done or not done anything, it just works like it should do.
Have you tried resetting your profile?

You can do that by renaming the profile folders while Opera is closed, new ones will be created automatically. That means starting completely fresh though. A quick fix to start with a 'mostly clean' profile is to rename your preferences file while Opera is closed. In that case only the prefs file will be recreated automatically, and things like your cookies, bookmarks and saved password will be kept. - See 'Help > About Opera' to learn the location of the preferences file, it is named 'operaprefs.ini' - Close Opera - Rename the operaprefs.ini file - Start Opera again

Ebay is not accepting my sign on details from Opera 10.51 either. I've also change the profile information as suggested by Luxor - no change though.

Finally found the fix --

Set bbc.co.uk/iplayer site preferences to view as Firefox ---

Glad you got it working, but there should be no need to change browser identification.
It works fine identified as Opera for the majority of users.
