Yes, the article link at the bottom is not very ideal. It'd be better if M2 always displayed the article link up top somewhere.
As for double-clicking on the "feed item", can you be more specific about what you mean by the 'feed item'? I'm not sure what *you* call the 'feed item'.
feed item is the text taken from
tag of RSS file, for example. do you call this "article"?
so, my idea in details. we have titles list and view pane. when you click on a title feed item opens in view pane, when you double click on the title article url opens on new tab. Yes, it breaks user experience when dbl click opens email in new tab. So, if this'll be configurable it would be great (dbl click for feeds open article url, dbl click for emails opens new tab with email). Maybe menu item or button as "Open Article URL", for example, will be enough, so user can himself configure that. I didn't found nothing similar now.

Understood now. You want to double-left-click on a feed item entry in the message list and have Opera open the feed item's link (the textContent of the
element).
That sounds cool. But, as you said, that would interfere with opening the message in a new tab, which is used often when you use "list only" view. But, either an option to configure that or a button like you said sounds cool to me. Or, even just an "Open article link" or something command that can be used as a button or context menu item.
Generally, I think any improvement in this area would be good. The link being at the bottom of a feed message is annoying.

No, sorry. But, you can file a report and request this feature.

"Open article link"
a few weeks back i tried to make such a button
unfortunately it's pretty ugly and i always end up using a mouse gesture on the article link instead
here it is if you want to try it
be aware due to a opera bug the button will not work if any link inside the feed contains a #
