my google search options are gone
I had a TDSS virus which was a redirect virus. So I set my default search engine to Bing to see whether I could thwart the virus that way.Now that the virus is gone, I am no longer able to use some of my search engine capabilities. I have reset my default search engine to google, but the following capabilities are nonfunctional:
1) when I select some text on a website and bring up the right click menu to search for that text on google, nothing happens.
Also the google search box at the top right side of the browser is now nonfunctional.
Again, google has now been set as my default browser, and also when I open the PREFERENCES> SEARCH>DETAILS dialog box, there is no query string in that text box, and also it does not seem to matter whether the POST select box is checked or not.
I put myself in your expert hands. I have no doubt I will not be left without a solution.
I'll guess I will have to answer my own question. To solve this problem I went to my other computer and opened opera there are went to PREFERENCES>SEARCH>EDIT GOOGLE>DETAILS and then copied the below text out of the "address" text box and unchecked POST check box and then deleted any text that was in the query string text box. THen clicked OK.
