All of a sudden Opera stopped working with a bunch of common sites?!

NOTE: I just noticed the Awaiting DNS thread and i am pretty sure that is my problem, though no solution yet. So since it seems i can't totally delete my posting just disregard it please. sorry.

Hi, i was using Opera last night no problem and then noticed that some of the pages i normally visit were not loading, i thought it was the ISP and went to bed. Now this morning these sites still aren't working like google, reliefweb, etc but other sites like npr.org and bbc work just fine (yahoo sites were barely working before but now working ok). I tried all these sites on explorer and they work just fine; i don't know what to make of this since yesterday afternoon I was surfing all these sites without a hitch. When i try to go to the sites the status bar just says "Waiting for DNS confirmation of cookie domain(s)" so maybe the DNS server? (but i can access the site though IE using the same DNS). I tried deleting all private data (history, cookies) removed custom java scripts etc but nada, anyone out there have any ideas on what might be the problem here? Another (possibly related problem?) is that when i exit opera the sync feature hangs (i have waited for hours and finally just closed it) this has been going on for a bit longer, week or two.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Actually yes, i did. The problem was that i didn't notice the "Waiting for DNS confirmation of cookie domain(s)" until later after I posted; hence my posting (apparently prematurely)
