[3353/6312/8329] KDE and PPC fixes

Here we go again! New builds for all platforms, now with KDE integration (UNIX platforms) and PPC versions (UNIX and Mac).

Known Issues
PPC builds crash on the Acid 3 test.
Windows
Accessibility crashes and freezes
Mac
Slow domain resolution on some sites
UNIX
Problems with some font settings
Plugin MIME types without file extensions don't work
No printing
Crash on exit for KDE users
Upgrading .rpm packages from prior 10.5x builds will result in broken application menus (uninstall and reinstall instead)

http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/ppc-and-kde

PS: yeah, I already found a crasher (in Windows), clicking on the link to the previous (to the above) blog post. If you're looking for moderately stable ... maybe not. If you're looking for adventure - or just trying to help the developers - there it is.

1) Every time you start Opera from the personal bar delete / lose the saved link. Link will be saved in bookmarks, only appears on the Personal bar, and it has to be again placed on the personal bar.

2) When choosing a search engine beside the address bar, it must offer to enter click on the search box, instead of closed immediately after selecting a search engine by clicking on the search engines.

Opera often crashes when logging in to your account at www.facebook.com. A fall occurs when logging in using the shortcut ctrl + enter.

For me this URL:

http://maps.google.es/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=es&geocode=&q=akihabara&sll=29.023712,-13.551204&sspn=0.012665,0.027874&ie=UTF8&hq=Akihabara&hnear=Jap%C3%B3n,+Tokio+Chiyoda+Ward%E5%A4%96%E7%A5%9E%E7%94%B0%EF%BC%93%E4%B8%81%E7%9B%AE%E2%88%92%EF%BC%91%EF%BC%92+Akihabara&ll=35.703064,139.771585&spn=0,0.001742&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=35.703218,139.771618&panoid=IUnG-I4muSTxikXYyOvh0Q&cbp=12,90.86,,0,-3.11

makes opera hang completely... Needing then a reboot... (Opera build 3353, XP SP3)

Maybe it's not a build 3353 problem, but I noticed it today...

Confirmations? Worth a bug report?

Build 3353 crashes randomly (w2k), basically it's unusable for me.
You can exclude plug-ins and JavaScript being reasons for the crashes since my first tests are always with them disabled.
2 crash reports submitted.

And now? The last time I tried to downgrade, it became a big mess and required a fresh install. That was a real pain.

After deleting the cache no crashes so far.
It was the cache left behind after the automatic uninstall of build 3347.

Edit:
Still crashing.

The MSDN text editors can still bring the whole tab to a halt... e.g. http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/de-DE/visual_studiode/thread/ec2ce3a8-25b6-4c37-9647-6928fe08eb90

The (i386 anyway) Linux build seems nice, and we even got our navigation buttons back (finally), but Windows ... besides my crashes, Windows seems to have issues rendering tables. Any page with a large table causes Opera to freeze for a number of seconds related to the size of the table. Example I used was the "opera.ini settings explained" page.

@friguron: For me the link is completely ok, Win7 x64. Maybe it's related to the asian fonts/letters, that windows has problems at rendering?

I'm about to stop collecting sites which reproducibly crash. (I think I have found yet another two or three.) Is anyone still reporting bugs, or are we all just waiting for the next snapshot?alien

And again the old problem on Kongregate. When paging through the comments sometimes Flash is suddenly moved there. Scrolling a bit fixes it. Maybe it has something to do with the Flash content being within an <iframe> ?

I've got a problem with some of the context menus - when I add an icon to a menu entry, it stops working.
E.g. under [Speed Dial Thumbnail Popup Menu],
Item, "Reload" = Reload thumbnail
works, but
Item, "Reload" = Reload thumbnail,,,,"Reload"
does not. Same for the rest of the entries under the same section. Can someone confirm?

It hasn't been slow here in the forums. It is slow when dealing with any moderate-sized table, on either the page you're leaving or the one you're going back to.

nope. dns issues and page loading issues. i think that to be fair to this build, it has to survive normal browsing condition. so while this might be the BEST BUILD EVAR!!!!11!!1!!, i am no longer going to delete both caches and cookies just to get it to work correctly for one session.

back to 10.2...
