In short though, with Gmail IMAP in Opera, you don't use anything but the "Mail for me@gmail.com" access point in the mail panel. Keep everything else collapsed and use these actions to do things.
If you want to create a new label, you do that in Opera by creating a new IMAP folder (or a label at mail.google.com). If you want to create a filter, that moves messages to a certain IMAP folder automatically, you do that by setting up the filter at mail.google.com
