Yes, I noticed that, too. Even my.opera forums, my.opera news, and my.opera blogs fail at fitting to width. Bad advertising there, fellows.
And no, I did not find any option in Opera Mobile to get it to fit better.

I am having the same problem and it is so strange, I have been using wap.mlb.com for years with Opera and had zero problems with fit to width but in the last couple of weeks it has become impossible to use I have to scroll side to side many page widths to read and info, I first thought that maybe the website had changed the formatting but then realized that it worked fine on Opera 9.7 just not Opera 10 but I am so addicted to the great features of Opera 10. Also works on other browsers and the thing that is so irritating is it worked perfect for me on Opera 10 brfore, I have changed every setting available with no success. Other sites give me problems as well but the MLB site is one that I use daily and has become unuseable.
Please help, Mike6

Same issue here. On my HD2 it is probably related to the virtual screen width used by opera. In Opera 9.7 one could fix it in the settings. Unfortunately, these are not available in 10. It's really annoying - I cannot even use some of the most popular sites, such as
touch.facebook.com
mobile.live.com - works, but only with weird zooming
reader.google.com/i/
...
Really, really annoying.

I too am having issues with the new version. Just installed it. I'm building a web application for our clients, and am testing it in every browser I can get my hands on. Problems I have with this new version.
- it doesn't seem to handle the viewport meta tag. It completely ignores the designated width.
Example:
<meta name = "viewport" content="width=230,user-scalable=no" />
-javascript cookie handling doesn't seem to be working.
And since the javascript cookie handling doesn't work, my site won't load beyond the front page.
For clarity, my site does work properly in the following. Firefox 3, Chrome 8, IE9, IE8, IE7, Iphone 3G(safari), desktop safari in Windows, Opera Mobile 9.5 on Windows Mobile 6.5 and Blackberry Browser 5+ .
The width parameter works on all the mobile browsers I've tried, except for IE mobile in windows mobile 6.5.
The Javascript handling works fine in ALL browsers I've tried so far. No exceptions. Except this one.
So whatever is wrong, it's something in Opera mobile 10

It seems that more and more sites are failing to resize properly in Opera 10. USA Today's site has been misbehaving for a few weeks now and I've just noticed that Salon.com is now resizing oddly.
Is there anyway for the developers to release a fix for this problem? It's by far the biggest annoyance I have with Opera 10.
Thanks.
