What good are banks?
I'd like to know, what good are banks? I just wrote a long post about my experience but I am really wondering if anyone else feels like I do about banks.The short of it and my opinion is, they are next to useless, except to take your money.

I agree with your post on a lot of things that banks takes our taxes , the interests payments and if your in debt, unless you can pay it off quick your pretty much screwed for a while.
I took economics last year and I heard the whole bit story about scarcity and that the resources on this planet are limited. there right but if our society wasn`t built on disposable products and consumerism every person wouldn`t have to buy stuff every year or two years when a certain products breaks down. look at computers, today with the technology we have we can build a really strong computer that can last 10 years or more and I think thats an understatement. but like the post says theres a lot of greed in this world and not everyone can be rich so you will always have poor people and rich people but theres a lot more people who are poor and paying the price.
Look for Venus project. its an organization in the states saying we should switch from monetary economy to resource based economy like it used to be a few hundred years ago. this way everyone will have proper care, food and shelter and with todays technology a lot of good can happen with a lot less hassling creditors.
