Remote debugging problem
Our web application has problems with Opera mobile 9.7 (10 works fine). Sadly, we need to support that version.I've discovered Opera has absolutely brilliant feature - remote debugging. But when trying to use, it doesn't quite work for me.
Let's cut to the point - my setup is Opera 10.51 on desktop and Opera 9.7 build 33443. I've followed the guide at http://dev.opera.com/articles/view/remote-debugging-with-opera-dragonfly/
When attempting to connect, I see a dialog message saying:
<dragonfly.opera.com>
The protocol version of Opera does not match the one which Opera Dragonfly is using.
Try to load a compatible version?
I ignore this and connect again - et volia, it works like a dream - I can debug the opera:debug from my desktop. The problem is when I open a new tab with the page I actually want to debug. What happens is either:
1. DOM tab in dragonfly is empty.
2. DOM tab shows some content, but disappears after a short while.
3. DOM tab shows collapsed page (I can see <head> and <body> elements), but when clicking on "+" icon to expand them, there is no effect.
When I try to switch back to debugging opera:debug, it doesn't work. It starts working again if I disconnect and reconnect to the debugger again.
Inside the Scripts tab, I only sometimes can select any pages - usually there are few to chose from, one is marked blue and bold, but those pages look like a static text, they are not clickable.
I managed to see the the scripts and set a breakpoint, but it was not triggered.
My description is very chaotic, but so is the behaviour - it looks like the remote debugging is very broken, or I am doing something stupid.
If you need any more details or clarification, please ask.
Any help is highly appreciated!
BTW, where can I find the changelogs? Some very outdated are here: http://www.opera.com/docs/changelogs/mobile/winmobile/
