Lose the blonde chick!

Opera, lose the blonde chick on the following page: http://my.opera.com/community/
It looks contrived, like you're trying to sell Opera on a sexy-looking woman. rolleyes

Sex, covetousness, and crime; these are strategies losers use when they can't do legitimate business.
So, unless you want to have the reputation of sleazy entity, lose the blonde chick at above page.

lol... for those too lazy to log out, or use another browser... or just for immediate effect...

Are you serious? and why only "the blonde chick" what about the brunette? What about the a**hole in the yellow shirt? Contrived or not, it's a fairly "realistic" looking picture, it's not being overtly sexual or anything...

C'mon, it doesn't take an Einstein to figure out that the blonde
chick is the focus of the picture!

Soft porn does more harm to the mind that hard core.
A picture of "normal" looking blonde chick does more harm to
the psyche than a scantily dressed one because then, we think that it's
okay to continue to look at the picture and objectify the woman in it,
which is what my complaint of the picture is about -- the
objectification of women and their misuse to sell (commercial) products.
It's all about the subliminal message in the above picture.

lol... well technically the focal point of the image is the brunettes right cheek... if anything draws your attention more so than anything else, then it is only your perspective that is influencing it. I like blue, I like brunettes... therefore she draws my attention, but the guy in gray is pretty attractive too... but nothing in the image will make me buy a phone, or use any Opera application.

The same as some people might be drawn to the orange glasses, or maybe think the guy in the white shirt is "cute", others might try and figure out what phone they are using, and some might even ignore the people entirely and wonder "where was that taken?" or "I've been there!"

Why is it that you don't mention the fact that the brunettes cleavage is showing? or that the guy in the gray shirt has perky nipples?... I suppose since there are two females "touching each other", and that it says "love"... that they must be implying that they are lesbians or bi-sexual.

Besides, statistically, and also stereotypically... females generally have more interest in phones, and it would be more likely that they would be the one with the phone... but, perhaps you think this picture is all about a gangbang, and the males are all about to jump these two females, and have all sorts of crazy premarital, forbidden, unholy sex on this nice grassy hill...?...lol

You must have a hard time walking around in public places without being offended by everyone you see. Naturally there is a sexual aspect to... well... people... no matter what they are doing, simply because we are human.

What exactly are they doing, or being shown as... that makes them "objectified"? Other than the obvious fact that all 5 of them are "objects" in a picture, and cannot tell us "who they really are".

<a href="http://www.adrants.com/images/verizon_flip_phone.jpg">this</a> is objectifying, it's obviously staged, edited, purposefully being "sexual" in it's presentation, the My.Opera one... is not... other than the fact there are females in it...

P.S. is there a shot with the girl in blue looking at the camera?... p

I don't see anything wrong with the picture looks like 5 everyday people looking at a phone the picture is believeable. The only problem there might be is with the brunnette showing a small amount of cleavage but looking nice isn't a crime. Until today I hadn't even been aware of that picture, to me thats just a background picture. I think most people wouldn't even notice it

Where the blond girl has her left hand is sort of questionable, but really I'd be more concerned with what you can see of the other girl. But of course, I have no more say in these things than you do.

The only reason i think there is an underlying sexual theme(if any) is that the models are all quite young and good looking!
It seems to be aimed at a younger audience.. they are also a sexier audiance.lol..

I'd have said the brunette was the focal centre of the image, and she's the only one with a slightly visible cleavage... devil

I think it's weird when people automatically think "blond" means overt sexuality, stupid, etc

my mother is a natural blond.

she has a graduate degree and can speak six languages

she had a career for over 40 years and raised two brilliant (if i say so myself) children.

and she's not a 'ho

get yer mind out of the gutter, please

So because you have a very, very dirty mind and can't look at women without objectifying them, that's someone else's fault?

This thread is revealing because you are the only one objectifying the girl. Ewwww.

And your racism towards the blonde just for being blonde? Even worse!

GASP! And what about how sexist the picture is?! Just look at the guy on the right! "Women can't use technology! What the hell are they playing at?!"

* </sarcasm> * wink

Careful with that pic, Y0Y0 ... the OP will need eye bleach! wink lol

This whole thing is baffling. Did the OP actually refer to that pic as 'soft porn?' confused

I just saw, in it, a group of friends checking out what was obviously meant to be the latest Opera mini (or something on the interwebs via the latest Opera mini). It shows how a group of people (i.e., many people) can use mobile technology to access the internet, even when they're in a park (i.e., not chained to a desk somewhere). Typically, younger people are also more likely to be using the latest technology, hence the age of the people in the group (which I took to be, on average, late teens to mid-twenties). And that's how people dress in countries where folks are allowed to make their own choices (like the choice of what browser to use wink ).

I think Vectronic summed it up best, iamhappy007: "You must have a hard time walking around in public places without being offended by everyone you see" (putting the lie to your username, I suppose, but there you go).

Tip: To stay happy? Worry about things that are far more important than taking apart a promo photo ... wink

I'm feeling much better now that all the other people in my head and I are working as a team! Well, at least until I ate some of them. Now the rest of us alternate between being not hungry anymore and being really worried, which is never good for the digestion! Burp. bigeyes
