10.10 is a great version, the new one is the worst I ever seen

Hello,
I'm sorry but I'm desparate...

Opera was a great browser, fast, light.
Now widgets are bad system applications and aren't in the widget menu, skins are poor, memory usage is incredible....
Vista style is heavy and it's shit.

I lost most of what I loved in opera.

I retrieve the 10.10 version and I hope that the opera team strategy will change.

Opera is a browser and must still be a browser.
(If you can dissociate the browser and the mailer it will be fabulous too)

Thank you to consider my point of view

1) the widget menu and panel are still there
2) I like the default skin, or what are you refering to?
3) memory usage has not really increased for me. Currently opera takes 150MB but I also had that with the previous versions (and also I don't care, I have 4GB system memory and I prefer apps actually using it)
4) wtf? it takes less screen space than ever. how can that be heavy? ô_0

also opera has always been more than "just a browser".

Opera 10.52 build 3363 is still fast, the fastest browser in the world in fact.
It obtains the highest score in the peacekeeper benchmark : http://clients.futuremark.com/peacekeeper/results.action?key=3IQF
And beats the lastest beta version of Google chrome 5 : http://clients.futuremark.com/peacekeeper/results.action?key=3JeV

Opera 10.52 build 3363 is also still light : It takes around 30Mo of disk space against 60Mo for Firefox 3.6.3, 65Mo for Safari 4.0 and 190Mo for Google chrome 4.1 (Yes 190Mo. You can verify at C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google).

You also don't have to install widgets as programs : when you install a widget, click before on Personalise, and uncheck Start Menu Program.
If you want to limit the memory usage, go to O/Tools/Preferences/Advanced/History/Memory Cache/ and select the limit you want.

I'm astonished to see that you don't know how to use your browser...and how you talk rubbish about it.

PS : if you want the old 10.10 skin, just search it.

Hello,
I have 4go too, but my work applications use all the ram... but I didn't compare memory usage between opera versions, it's just a "feeling".
In fact I use emil_rsd-6_0, but on opera 10.5 it's doesn't work correctly...
I agree with you, opera is the faster and the display quality is the best. but turn to vista menu is not a great idea,
I have to display the menu because I want to access to my rss, so the big opera button is useless for me.
Widgets aren't in the widgets menu so I have to click on the widget icon and doubleclick and the chosen widget. It's just a matter of use...
But widget installed in the system is crazy, portability out, more and more little files everywhere. windows did not need that .

I don't speak about firefox and IE they are less powerful, mouse gesture is great, opera is fastest.

But it's not a reason, I would have the choice, to use old widgets, old menus, old skins.... And that's I do, but I had to search for old version, old skin and old widgets.

Earth01, I know how to use my browser, I know how change cache...
I know that if I uncheck start menu the widget is still in my documents settings, read some other post, I'm not the only one which test this application fake that are new widgets.

rubbish... I love opera but I see that these evolutions aren't good.

I'm sorry but I'm still against this new version and I'm not the only one.

I believe that 10.5 is the best version of Opera ever, it's really faster than 10 or 10.1 !!

In fact I really saw how benchmarks are better . ..

Sorry, I'm against. . . Because on 10 or 10.1 Loading for a page seems forever - sorry.
But on 10.5 I believe their slogun is right "No more waiting for your web pages to load"
