Anchor Delay
If you have an anchor in the url Opera waits for the site to completely finish loading before it jumps to the anchor. Wouldnt it be possible to directly jump to the anchor after it has loaded? Or maybe jump when the DOM/HTML has finished loading (images still loading)? Now when clicking the next link here in blog you start scrolling as soon as page is loading to go to the comments and then when site is completely loaded it jumps to the anchor. Thoughts?

Glad to see the "younger generation" picking up on this annoying behaviour. It makes loading times of forum pages on broadband connections behave like being on dial up again....
I have reported it as a bug last year or so and has been addressed more than just several times over the years here at the forms and probably has multiple bug reports.
I hope one day they will change this....

I dont know how this works in other forums or blogs, but in most of them pictures like avatars have a fixed size which is also known in the source. Opera seems to wait for them to completely load. But when the position and the size of them is known, what reason could be to prevent to jump to the correct anchor position?

This is a user2user forum — they don't often comment. If its a bug, and reported as a bug, they have a policy of not commenting on when it will be fixed.
You never know you're luck though — someone might say something.
Personally, I don't see it as a major problem on broadband. Unless the page is very long, the delay is just about long enough (< 5 seconds) for me to read the first post and remind myself of what the thread is about before reading the reply linked to. If I was using a slow connection, I would open links in the background, and wait for them to finish loading before switching tabs.

I don't think that Opera does exactly that...
