Check Boxes and Radio Buttons very difficult to select.
Opera Mini 5.0 on iPhone 3GI've found that check boxes and radio buttons on any website I've come across are very difficult to select with Opera Mini. This wasn't a problem with Safari because you could zoom in farther so the hit area in which you had to press could be larger. I had a few ideas for solutions to this problem.
One could be to make the hit area around the boxes and buttons larger, although this could cause problems when buttons and boxes are close to each other or next to links. Perhaps make the hit area extend only to the point that it intersects with another hit area.
Another solution would be to offer a feature where when you simply tap the screen, a crosshair would appear briefly to show you the exact point you pressed, this could also be useful for hyperlinks.
And finally, my last suggestion would be to have the text that is associated with a radio button or check box be part of the hit area. This may only work in certain circumstances, depending on the HTML or Javascript used to produce the button or box.
Maybe I'm the only one who's experienced this problem? Does anyone else have any other suggestions?
Have you had trouble selecting check boxes or radio buttons?

Normally even the checkboxes in your post would have been hard to use in Mini 5, but I did it from a different browser this time.
Regarding your suggested solutions, here's another: Provide a variable zoom feature. This would solve much more than the problem you've described.

When using the smallest fonts with a dumb phone sometimes I can't access certain consecutive links (links not necessarily as boxes) because cursor movement is too jumpy. Obviously the only workaround solution would be to use a larger fonts in my case. iPhone imply that the link should be like a button rather than a box which is right for a user with a larger fingertprint.

I've been looking for help about this and this is the topic I guess. I even cannot select any checkbox or radio buttons. I don't know what's wrong. Using latest opera mini and mobile on a nokia touch phone with symbian S60 OS. Any ideas?
Yes, we are aware of the problems with the relatively small hit area for radio buttons and checkboxes, which is known to cause usability problems on higher-res touch screens.
There are some new features in the works that hopefully will alleviate the problems you're having. Stay tuned.

good news dmarks
looking forward to a new version. it would be nicer to have alternatives to toggle between check boxes or radio buttons such as using volume keys. 'cause we're stuck here with no options to toggle between them.
