Wrong mail icon after installation or update on Windows XP
Hello,I've noticed this multiple times before, although I did not talked about it before.
The mail icons which is displayed in the start menu of Windows XP, is a blank icon after Opera is updated (since the two or three last updates). I've checked the error is in the registry, in the key :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\Opera\DefaultIcon
After an update, it is given the value
"C:\Program Files\Opera\Opera.exe",5
While this should be
"C:\Program Files\Opera\Opera.exe",3
Indeed, there is no 5th icon in the Opera executable for Windows, thus, this display an ugly empty icon.
Replacing 5 by 3, solves the trick and makes the good icon to be displayed.
Note : this key also exists in HKEY_CURRENT_USER. More details here : How to Register an Internet Browser or E-mail Client With the Windows Start Menu (msdn.microsoft.com)[/I]
For publication tool chain (for the web and else) : Semantic online editor, Lasidoré (XML based) - prerelease - requires at least Opera 9.5 to work nice

This started happening when Opera got a new logo design (as the icons in the exe were changed).
The problem is known and is fixed internally.

I don't know. Internally = Unreleased
If you use the latest 10.52 snapshot and use the MSI installer (as opposed to the classic), it'll work.
It's fixed, indeed, Opera 9.53 (today's update) does not have this trick.
