Missing Text in Preferences & Appearance

Opera 10.51 and perhaps earlier, Windows XP SP3, up to date

If I click on Tools/Appearance or Tools/Preferences then attempt to view or change my choices, all text that is next to check boxes is now missing. I just have blank space next to the check boxes. Some boxes are checked and some are unchecked, but there are no descriptions next to any of the boxes any more. This makes it impossible to change anything, because there's no way to know what I'd be changing.

Tools/Quick Preferences appears to be normal.

It's been this way for a few weeks, and I'm willing to assume that it's due to something I did, but I don't know what. At first I assumed that this was an Opera 10.?? problem, and that a fix would be forthcoming, but I'm up to date - there are no later versions available.

Anyone else seen this?

You need to use a skin compatible with Opera 10.5

Right-click on any toolbar, open the Appearance dialogue, Skins tab, and select the Standard skin, or click on get more skins, New skins, and install one designed for Opera 10.5

Different skin, now that's a thought. Did it, fixed it!

I liked the simplicity of the Classic Opera skin, so I don't know why it never got updated.

Nevertheless, I found a perfectly good substitute and it's working perfectly now.
