*feature request* Make Bookmarks right-click-able
I really love opera, but there is something that annoys me for quiet some time now.Make the Bookmarks "right klick"able from the menu (yes, I still prefere the old fashioned menu at the top of the window) and add the most common used options like edit and delete. Would be a real timesaver.
Regards

Actually it would not — using context menus to delete bookmarks one at a time is very slow. Using the bookmarks panel or manager you can select multiple bookmarks and delete them all at once with the delete key.
It might be more convenient to delete bookmarks one at a time, but a time-saver it most definitely is not.
It has been requested more than a few times, perhaps by users migrating from IE

If you do not have easy access to a bookmarks panel button, or need to use the "Manage bookmarks" menu item, then it actually is a timesaver for deleting one or two items. Consider:
1. Open bookmarks menu
2. Right click and delete bookmark
vs.
1. Open bookmarks menu
2. Select 'manage bookmarks'
3. Move cursor down to bookmarks
4. Right click/press delete to delete bookmark
5. Close bookmark manager.
The first option is actually a lot quicker. The OP never said it was a timesaver for deleting lots of bookmarks - which is rarely done anyway.

You should try some time and motion studies.

Rarely done by users accustomed to the inefficient way of working that is allowed by IE.
If you cannot delete bookmarks with right-click, then you do not do it in a piecemeal fashion by opening the bookmarks panel for each one. You do it as a separate task, reorganising your bookmarks once a day, once a week, or whatever, depending on how many bookmarks you collect.

I'd like to see something similar to the address bar drop down menu, where you can delete history by clicking the far right "x" button.
Having the ability to drag and drop bookmarks would be a great addition as well.
But first, Opera needs a quick way of accessing your bookmarks (in the default UI). Going through the O-button is not quick!
Also, right click menu would also be nice for opening a bookmarks in a new tab.

I don't understand. Can't you rename your bookmarks in properties in either the Bookmarks panel or manager, and then drag them to the Start bar?

I suspect people don't "bulk delete" their bookmarks on a regular basis. People generally bookmark sites they want to keep as bookmarks. I think most people would only have 1 or 2 bookmarks a *month* or even a *year* that they would delete, if any. You are in the minority if you have more than that.
If they happen to come across a link that is broken or they realise they no longer they want it, they might delete it then and there. What they don't do is take a mental note of it and any other bookmarks so that when they come to their monthly clean-up of their browser they have to remember it and delete it with many other bookmarks. The very idea that a browser would require "weekly maintenance" is a problem in itself, it shouldn't.
Majority of users don't have large hierarchies of bookmarks that require regular maintenance to upkeep. If you have to go in and organise your bookmarks on a weekly basis, you are doing it wrong. A browser or browsing habit that requires you to do that is very inefficient.
I use the bookmark panel extensively, but even I can see a reason for the request:
Sometimes I put temporary Bookmarks (in panel or somewhere else), which I just put there to retrieve the page later and than need deleting once I viewed them. Having a Right click menu would be very helpful for this usage as well.
Also keep in mind: Netbooks and small monitors (i.e. for in Car PC) are getting quite common and the Bookmark in the top row might be the smarter way for the users of small monitors compared to the panel!
Not everyone always uses a LARGE Monitor :-)
