Thanks for submitting the suggestion. I need C++ BTW. But I'll take any C style highlighting I can take.

Shouldn't be too hard to implement, there are already several fine, light-wighted, progressive enhancement JS in the web, that do it in a very nice way. Some even come with a very free license, so there should be no need to invent the wheel again. If someone has switched JS off or if the UA isn't capable to display it, it falls back to the old code tag behavior, so no harm done.
