Why I un-installed Opera Mini 5 and re-installed Opera Mini 4 for Blackberry?
I was thrilled to install Opera Mini 5 and try it out. I did find it very cool at first and then I was disappointed but this:- Installing vers.5 over vers.4 did not keep my speed list or my bookmarks. All Gone. Pouf.
- When you load a page, the mouse pointer dissappears for 1-2 second and then re-appears frozen for 1-2sec. Aie. So annoying after a while.
- Adding a few links with icons to the Start page was cool until I could not find where to edit them (not in bookmarks anymore as in vers.4 or in settings or by clicking on any menu button) or delete the pre-installed links from Facebook/BBC/etc.
- The Help section is very empty or non-searchable, so it will not 'help' you either to get info on new or old features.
- Smart scrolling cannot be disabled and can be annoying because it moves blocks of pages and you will be struggling at times when reading text at the edge of your screen or trying to catch that 'login' button. Opera mini 4 scrolling goes fast using the 2, 4, 6, 8 keys.
Not really a faster browser either, so I missed the point of vers.5 and went back to good old fast Opera 4... Lost time but let's say it was fun. :-)
