No. None of the OM browsers handle .jar or .jad files. I know OM4 does not handle the download of many file types like .mp3 and .png. Instead it asks the phone's native browser to download the file. Not too sure about OM5 and the other file types.

It depends on the phone's java libraries. In some cases, triggering a java download call will always trigger the phone's native browser to download that URL. (Bypassing Mini's download manager)

Official Opera Mini doesn't download .jar and .jad files it instead reroutes download of these file types to your in-built browser.

Some illegally modified Opera Mini are capable of doing otherwise (don't go Googling them).

If you're downloading any other file type besides .jad and .jar and OM reroutes downloads to your in-built browser it signifies that your phone doesn't have the JSR-75 API (this API allows MIDlets to access local file system).

If you're unable to access m.opera.com/next with your in-built browser, trying accessing it with your OM and copy the download URL of the signed Opera Mini and go paste it in your phone in-built browser.
Leave it for now, you can do it tomorrow. (Procrastinate)

m.opera.com won't give give you the .jar to download but it'll give you the .jad file which your phone will execute.
The .jad file contains the .jar file download URL.

If you're using a Nokia s60 phone during .jad file execution (installation), navigate to your C Drive or RAM Temp folder using a third party file explorer and copy the .jad file to another folder.
Using your phone's text editor copy the URL under MIDlet-Jar-URL and go paste it in your phone's in-built browser. Download will eventually start. Once download completes, installation will start using thesame above procedure copy the .jar file from the Temp folder and go paste it somewhere else for future installation or transfer to other devices.

Words Words Words!!! Just a 15 second procedure if you're using X-plore.
Leave it for now, you can do it tomorrow. (Procrastinate)
