"Bookmark all open tabs" fails in v. 10.51

Have others here had this problem? If so, what was done to resolve it?

I sent Opera a bug report the contents of which follows:

To recreate problem:

1. Have multiple tabs open in a single window.
2. Select "Bookmark All Open Pages" by right clicking on a folder from within the Bookmark Manager
3. Nothing Happens

I expect Opera to record the bookmarks of all open tabs in the active window in the folder I selected, as per the menu obtained by right-clicking on that folder.

Nothing happens. And I am using the latest version of Opera. I reinstalled it (without uninstalling), and the bug persists. (On reinstalling, the "Bookmark all open tabs" feature functioned once and then ceased to function).

I am running Win XP Pro on a AMD X2 64 CPU. I have Linkman Lite installed (which collects bookmarks from Opera and other browsers) but I exited from it and the problem persists.

Thanks in advance for your attention and suggestions.

Check one folder level higher than the folder where you tried to bookmark them. There's a bug in 10.5x which makes bookmarks end up one level higher than intended under certain circumstances.

Thanks for the tip but the bug is evidently worse than you've indicated and the bookmarks are nowhere to be seen. Since (as you say) this is generalized bug and the ability to "Bookmark all open pages" is an important feature to me, I'm going to have to go back to an earlier version of Opera or change browers.

If sessions could be saved at the window level I wouldn't mind so much - but that's not the case and not being able to bookmark groups of data sources together makes Opera unusable for me.

I hope this is fixed soon.

Well, I finally found the bookmarks a couple of levels _below_ the folder I indicated so the bug is less grave than appeared at first BUT it's still a flaw that should be attended to without delay (and shouldn't have been released in the first place).

Opera users & forums continue to be as helpful as ever, however.

Below, really? That's never happened to me. You know that "up" in a folder structure means closer to the root (base folder), right? When you click the arrow to go "back" you're moving up. Just making sure we're not confusing each other.

Right - The Folder Structure is in alphabetical order and up is usually A and Trash is usually at the bottom (IOW, below - in the same sense that Sweden is generally considered to be above Denmark and the USA is above Mexico, where I am).

On the other hand, I've using v. 10.00 with no problems and the problem we're discussing leads me to believe that v. 10 is above version 10.5 - but that's another whole ball of wax. And I'm not sure that I can go back to v. 10 without uninstalling v. 10.5 and losing all my bookmarks, configurations and plugins etc., anyway.

I've been using Opera since v. 3.x and would hate to have to depend on Chrome or even one of the Mozilla browsers, exclusively. I've never used Safari (and have no desire to shoot other animals anyway) and M$IE is not an option, generally (and will be even less so, from Linux).

We're not talking about the same thing. When you enter a folder in any folder structure you're moving down the folder tree. When you go back to a previous folder you're moving up. That's what I'm talking about.
