Corrupted upgrade to 10.51 => unable to open http: links or .html files when browser is closed

Hi All,
When Opera automatically found the update to 10.51 there was a crash during the update process. Many issues resulted. Most were fixed by manually downloading and installing 10.51, but one key one remains.
If Opera is open, double-clicking on a .html file or clicking on an internet link in Word opens the requested page correctly.
However, if the browser is closed (not running), Windows opens Opera, but then throws an error that it cannot open the file or resource and the URL to the resource is not passed to the new Opera instance.
Unsetting and re-setting Opera as the default browser doesn't help.
So far I've not been game to do a full uninstall and re-install as I don't want to risk my extensive Wand password list etc.
Suggestions?

Open Opera before double-clicking an html link.

This is a known issue.

Then maybe my other issue is known too - persistent internet access lockups with the info bar reporting 'Waiting for Connection (#7)' or some other number. After waiting about a minute or two connectivity would be restored. Almost entirely eliminated by changing the 'Max Total Connections' setting to 8 from the default of 20.

The default for max total connections is now 64 — default for max connection = 16

Thanks for your knowledgable input!

When was that supposed to have changed - my V10.51 was still showing 8 & 20 when I changed it to 8 & 8 in testing.....

If the file opening error is a known issue, is a fix planned?
