What happened to the web based Operamail?
I attempted to log on to my operamail account via firefox and was rather taken aback by the message -
There is a problem with your request. Please contact customer service for assistance.
Possible errors are:
1. Your account does not exist
2. Your account is suspended
So I go to Opera.com and hit the mail section where I read that I need to download Opera to access my opera mail account.
Is this correct? If so then I would like to applaud Opera for taking this action with no warning to users.
If not then can an indication be given as to when I can access my email without having to download another browser?

No you don't. Where on earth did you read that?
Is this correct?
No, it's wrong. And you should know better than to make a claim like that without a direct link and an actual quote.

Ummm....yes. Its easy...all you need is basic reading comprehension and an ability to follow instructions.
As it is obvious you don't and can't and seem to want to take affront at my post I'll make this easy for you.
http://www.opera.com/mail/
Your e-mail has a new home An e-mail client built into your browser — right where you need it the most. Opera offers an e-mail client built right into your favorite browser. Opera Mail powerfully organizes, indexes and sorts your messages while transforming your Opera Web browser into a complete communication tool.
Given the above and the error message I posted it is not unreasonable to make the connection. But just to make sure I am not going mad I posted my question here. Of course I should have expected a fanboi to throw a wobbly (oh by the way...I've been using opera and opera mail for quite a while...over ten years and I have experience of Opera support).
So to your comment that it is wrong. On what authority do you state this is wrong? Are you tech support? Marketing? What exactly? Oh...you are a fanboi. Useful.
I did manage to access my Operamail account briefly to note that besides a nice redesign of the UI I am also missing a weeks worth of emails (up to April 15th 2010). I logged out and tried to log back in and lo - same error message as before.
So prd3 if you would be so kind as to be useful instead of crying like a big girls blouse it would be most appreciated. I am not in the mood to deal with asinine commentary like yours at the moment.

Which you clearly don't have. That text refers to Opera's e-mail client, not the webmail service.

Um, yes it is. It doesn't mention operamail.com at all!

On the fact that www.operamail.com has always supported other browsers, and still does.
works for some reason while
www.operamail.com does not.
Great support there Opera...

In case you didn't notice, both of these link to www.operamail.com

And www.operamail.com works fine here.
Great support there Opera...
What do you mean by "support"? You can't even read and understand a simple piece of text, so clearly you are all confused again.
Also, why are you spamming the thread with new posts instead of editing the one you already posted?

The only one spamming this thread is you with your utterly useless and annoying comments.

Your reading comprehension problems strike again! Did you notice that your screenshows shows no "www." in front of "operamail.com"? And you wrote:
"www.operamail.com does not [work]"

Also, what about your bogus claim that Opera is required to use www.operamail.com?

re the www prefix...I never needed to use it before.
Now kindly stop spamming this thread unless you actually have something useful to say.

I could not access my opera webmail last night either. Browser type nothing to do with it. Seems that the site was shut down for some time while they upgraded it all and gave it a brand new look. Back on again this morning when I tried but I too am missing a lot of recent emails both in inbox and sent. Where they gone? No doubt some techie has boobed and messed up the database in the process of upgrading the site. Not happy about this at all. Lucky there was nothing of great importance. Certainly wont be using operamail ever again for anything important if these standards are anything to go by. A decent outfit would also have given forewarning about site maintainance and temporary having no access to email accounts. Very unprofessional indeed.

What does this have to do with anything? I can't see any posts there about Opera being required to access www.operamail.com (remember, that was what you said, that WWW.operamail.com requires Opera).
re the www prefix...I never needed to use it before.
So? Clearly it's needed now. And it's not forcing you to use Opera, unlike the completely idiotic claim you originally made. Now you have probably realized just how wrong you were, but instead of not jumping to conclusions, you try to change the subject. LOL.
