Process of publishing a widget.

Hello everyone.

I recently went up a widget for Opera, my first widget.
The widget is correct and very simple, simple. "Translate widget".

A few days ago I saw my widget in the "My Widgets" and the widget was pending approval.

Now, the widget does not appear in "My Widgets". Nor does it appear in the search. Why?

However, I can see my widget when I go to "upload widget." My widget is available to be updated. So if I do "click" in the name of my widget I can see her name, screen capture, description, ... and a date, I believe that is the date of approval.

Why not available to the public?
What happens?

Thank you very much, greetings.

Pd: Edit to upload a photo of the details of widget.

The reason why you can't find your widget under Opera desktop is that your widget is approved for mobile and you can find your widget browsing our site on for example SonyEricsson P1i

Hi Skooter.

I work in a development company for mobile solutions.

I have a Nokia 5800, 3G HTC Diamond, N96 and HTC HD2. In all terminals have installed the Opera Widget manager. In all we can look for widgets, install and run, except our own widget:-S

In the PC browser I can find widgets for mobile, except mine.

Why is my widget does not appear in searches?
Can you find my widget in searches?

I think something is missing in the approval process of the widget to the public.

Thanks for your help, greetings.

could you please send me a link to your widget?

I think under PC browser you are finding mobile widgets approved for desktop. But not all widgets approved for mobile are approved for desktop. It depends on that widget works well under both platforms.

But yes, we should prepare clear approving process guidelines.

VanaturWMS: one more question, which Widget Manager you have on your device? Is this Opera 9.7 Widget Manager?

Hello skooot

In the HTC HD2:
Opera Widgets 10.00
ZPE-128
97b1 version

I download the widget manager from:

Windows mobile version http://www.opera.com/download/get.pl?sub=++++&id=32742&location=270&nothanks=yes
Symbian http://www.opera.com/download/get.pl?sub=++++&id=32743&location=270&nothanks=yes

10.00(451)

There is any problem with some version of Opera widget manager?

Thanks !

So widgets are moderated for different platforms. We have to check that widget work well on each platform before we will approve it. Your widget is now available for Opera 9.7b1 widget manager.

Hello.

On my HTC HD 2 I can not find the category "Mail and messaging." My widget is in that category.

I have updated my widget and I have changed the category, now in "Miscellanous." I hope that now the widget will be available.

Thanks, greetings.

there is a huge usability horror - when one publishes UPDATE for his widget, new description/text is made public immediately, while widget itself stays in moderation line.
it can be very misleading, if new version introduces new features etc.
shouldnt "version specific input" like description text etc be only be updated when version itself is made public?
